Hay Interiors is more than a curtain and blind shop. We are a working maker’s space where beautiful window furnishings are designed, cut, sewn and finished on site in our Nedlands workroom — right next to the showroom. This rare combination of inspiring fabric selection and visible craftsmanship is at the heart of what makes us different.
For over fifty-five years, Perth homeowners, interior designers, architects and builders have trusted us to create custom window treatments that enhance their homes and stand the test of time. Our owner, Annie, brings decades of hands-on expertise in traditional curtain making, a deep understanding of fabric and proportion, and a genuine passion for helping clients find the right solution for their windows and their needs. Hay Interiors is a Registered Design Entity member of the Design Institute of Australia.
Annie is the heart of Hay Interiors. Born in Tehran, she learned to sew as a child in her mother’s dressmaking business, and later trained as a curtain maker in Southampton, England, making bespoke curtains and blinds for four years — including the traditional skills required for heritage and historic properties. She purchased Hay Interiors in 2007 and has continued its legacy of quality while bringing her own refined approach to consultation, fabric selection and custom making. Annie is a Member of the Design Institute of Australia, Australia’s peak body for design professionals.
Annie personally consults with every client. She takes the time to understand your windows, the light in your home, your privacy needs, how you use each room, and the architectural character of your property — whether it is a heritage home in Dalkeith or Peppermint Grove, a contemporary family home in City Beach or Cottesloe, or a renovation in Subiaco or Mount Lawley. Many of Perth’s respected interior designers regularly come to Annie because they know she will deliver thoughtful, beautifully executed results that complement their overall design vision.
One of the most appreciated aspects of working with Hay Interiors is our attached workroom. Unlike many curtain shops that order their curtains in, we cut, sew and finish our curtains and Roman blinds on site. This means complete quality control, faster turnaround, and the ability for you to see the craftsmanship happening while you visit. It also allows us to offer complex traditional styles and heritage-appropriate treatments that require specialised skills.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping you create window furnishings you will love for many years to come.
